May at the Bolton Public Library

This month, we're hopeful that our contractor will start the long-awaited plumbing repair that will get our women's restroom back in service.  For the duration of that project, the Program Room will be unavailable--but the calendar is still full, with events for all ages and tastes.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 4 when the Friends of the Library hold their semiannual book sale at the Houghton Building (697 Main St.).  This is a major fundraiser for the Friends, whose support of the library includes many programs as well as the entire museum pass program.  Offerings are culled regularly so the sale items are always fresh and appealing as well as bargain-priced! The sale runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The same day, across the street on the school grounds, join our youth services staff for the annual Nashoba Children's Day Fair. We'll offer a preview of the upcoming summer reading and learning programs and lots of other goodies. The Fair runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

This month's activities for young people include high school poetry club (May 1), Baby Boogie (May 3), storytime every Tuesday morning at 10:30, Lego Club (May 8), Pajama Storytime (May 9), middle school strategy board games (May 15), Saturday storytime (May 18).  You'll find the calendar here: http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/calendar.html

Town Meeting is coming up on May 6 at 7 p.m.  We appreciate voter support of the library budget, and encourage all residents to take advantage of the value found in using the public library.  It can really make an impact in your household budget!  For example, you could pay $155 for an annual subscription to Apple News +, or you could read Ground News (via our Libby app) for free. Visit the New England Aquarium or another cultural institution with a library pass (http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/museum-passes.html) and save half price on admission.  Buy a membership at an area co-working space for $399/month, or find a quiet nook at the library (free!). We also offer virtually unlimited access to books, ebooks, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, and more--all free to borrow on your library card.  Virtual resources are here: http://www.boltonpubliclibrary.org/online-resources.html, or visit the beautiful building at 738 Main St. Tuesday through Saturday.
